A FATHER’S WEDDING BLESSING

In days of old as memorialized throughout the Scripture, it was expected of fathers to speak blessings upon their children; sometimes for the giving of birthrights, and sometimes just for blessings upon their lives at special occasions, and today is most certainly one of those occasions. Elondra is our second miracle child, when we were told we could never have children.  Her mother and I have been greatly blessed by this cherished gift Father YHWH has given to us. I have recently discovered that the meaning of Elondra’s name is two fold: meaning “strong & courageous” and “ My El [YHWH] loves me”. We are also very blessed that Kevin will soon be our first son-in-law. The name Kevin means “Handsome” OR “Beloved”. It would be hard to argue with Elondra that he is not both Handsome AND Beloved. 

Elondra and Kevin, this blessing is put upon both of you so that the Will of your Creator and Heavenly Father, YHWH, is the only Will that will ever be imposed upon you.

Father YHWH, as instructed in Scripture, we are calling upon Your Name this day. We beseech You to hear us. We petition You to bless Elondra and Kevin, for today, our precious daughter and new son will begin their new life together.  We, as parents, family and friends, in the flesh, cannot protect or shield these young adults from the temptations and challenges this World will continually throw at them. May You, Father YHWH, and only You, place Your Shield of Protection around Elondra and Kevin, their new Union, and their future progeny, so that no man or man’s device, be ever allowed to intervene or cast aspersion over or upon what You and You alone have set apart.  May You, Father YHWH, bless them with unconditional love for You first, and then for each other.  May You cause them to always walk in Your ways, to guard Your Laws and Right-Rulings, to walk in them, which if a man does, You have said “he shall even live.”  Father YHWH, may the fruits of Your Ruach (Your Spirit) abound in these two and bless them with abundance and fruitfulness. Be close to their hearts, make them productive, caring and considerate, generous, and peace loving, and above all, bless them with a countenance that shines with the glory of Your Son, Yahshua.

Elondra and Kevin, Father YHWH is your Protector and your Shield. Trust Him and be obedient to Him. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.  Be not wise in your own eyes: fear YHWH, for therein is the beginning of wisdom. Love His Name, Call upon Him and seek His Face for He is the only Father you can trust to see you through the remainder of your lives.

Now… As You, Father YHWH, instructed Moses to speak to Aaron and his sons saying, this is how you are to bless the children of Yisrael, Say to them:

“Yevarechecha YHWH ve ish marecha

Yair YHWH panav elecha vechunecha

Yesa YHWH panav elecha, ve yasem lecha shalom”

YHWH bless you and keep you.

YHWH make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.

YHWH turn His face towards you and give you peace.

As You, Father YHWH, continued in your instructions to Moses, you further stated: “And thus they shall put My Name upon the children of Yisrael, and I, Myself, will bless them.”
